Kilmuckridge Centre of Further Education


(KCFE) is an independent education and training provider established in 2000 in Kilmuckridge, Gorey, County Wexford. In 2011 we became a FETAC recognised
provider. We offer programmes leading to awards at levels 4,5 and 6 on the NQF. We provide learning opportunities that are accessible, relevant, and meet the diverse needs and abilities of our learners, offering progression routes into further education and training, and employment. KCFE is an ITEC registered training centre. We contract the services of over 18 highly experienced tutors who are recognised as experts in their respective fields. 

KCFE AIMS:

To Facilitate “Learning for Learning" by providing quality learning opportunities that are accessible, relevant, and meet the needs and abilities of its learners, offering progression routes into further education /training and or employment.

Health Services Supervisory Management

 8 minor component awards which will give you a total of 120 credits

The purpose of this programme is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work independently in a Supervisory/Managerial capacity and/or under supervision in a range of Healthcare residential and non- residential health and social care settings.

This programme offers specialised modules in Healthcare Management with training that can be applied to Healthcare Staff managing health or social services in a variety of settings such as: resource centres, nursing homes, care centres, retirement homes, crèches and family support services.

Special Purpose Award

The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to identify training and development needs and to deliver and evaluate a training intervention within a range of training and development contexts.

Our Train the Trainer courses are designed specially with the individual client in mind and are tailored to their needs, whether they are an existing or novice trainer.

This programme is suitable for anyone who wishes to gain a professional, nationally recognised training qualification. It is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge to run, manage and deliver effective training programmes.

This programme is designed to provide the Learner with a recognised qualification for Healthcare Workers, both in employment and those seeking to work in this sector. The Healthcare Support Major Award Certificate is the recommended professional qualification for all Healthcare Assistants working in the public and private sector.

Learners study core areas of nursing and are enabled to put theory into practice through their participation in work experience and also with an introduction to the theories and practices of nursing, a working knowledge of hospitals and the key elements of caring.

This major award comprises of:
8 minor component awards which will give you a total of 120 credits

The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work independently and under supervision applying best practice to enabling individuals with an intellectual disability to reach their potential and live the lives of their choice and or to progress to further and or higher education and or training.

This course is designed to assist learners to develop the necessary understanding and skill to work with people affected by intellectual disability including the person themselves, their families and relevant support services. Learners will be exposed to the causes, range and effects of intellectual disabilities and will develop awareness of social models of support and role of various professionals in responding to the needs of persons of intellectual disability.
